Welcome to animal research home page. The Syracuse University animal care and use program is made of two main bodies: Laboratory Animal Resources (LAR) and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Both are organized by the Office of Research Integrity and Protections in the Department of Research. LAR is responsible for providing high quality animal care, veterinary care, and support for the research and teaching at Syracuse University. The highly dedicated and experienced LAR staff is committed to the health and well-being of laboratory animals as well as student and investigator training.  The IACUC, which includes members of the public, oversees all proposals for the institute’s animal care and use program, procedures, and facilities to ensure they are consistent with regulations and contemporary practice standards including:
